WHAT: Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk
WHEN: Saturday, August 28, 2010
TIME: Determined by each team
WHERE: Your Town, Your State, Your Country

WHAT IS GOLDRUSH?
GOLDRUSH is not a fundraiser! The idea behind the GOLDRUSH Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk is simply to spread the word about childhood cancer to our communities.  In the coming months, we will be posting more information to help you organize a walk in your neighborhood, along with materials that you can download and use to promote the walk and distribute during the walk to help educate your neighbors about childhood cancer. The goal is to create a grassroots network of concerned individuals, who band together to raise awareness across the country and around the world! Childhood cancer is a global issue, and it will take commitment from the global community to truly make a difference!

Several walks are already being planned. Check below to see if there's a walk near you. If there's not, why not host one in your neighborhood? CLICK HERE to let us know that you'd like to host a walk.

Some suggestions:

1. Verify and follow all local ordinances for public gatherings.

2.  Please use the GOLDRUSH statistics flier or the flier from Team Unite. Both include statistics from CureSearch. It is important that we are all speaking the same language and using uniform statistics.
In the UK, please use Be Child Cancer Aware statistics.

3.  Be creative in planning your awareness event! Plan a typical walk, a park gathering, a candlelight walk, a neighborhood walk or set up a booth in a public area--  anything that enables you to spread the word about childhood cancer and the need for funding, research and a cure. Remember the idea is to think globally and act locally.

4.  Update your posted information here.

5.  Have fun, spread the word, and take pictures!
